The Researcher: Sam Brooks
I am a PhD Candidate at Rutgers University in the Department of Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. My dissertation seeks to understand the scope of violence against transmasculine people. That research led me to the creation of this project. My goals for this list are to recover victims who have been erased or forgotten and to further understanding of how violence against transmasculine people operates. I have spent two years finding transmasculine victims of fatal violence through archival research. To continue to expand the list, I am opening that research to the public.
